About
PASS is a student organization that seeks to promote student performance, career preparation and professional development in the field of Psychology. Efforts to improve undergraduate performance and retention, and to encourage professional development skills mainly with respect to post-Baccalaureate field(s) of study include, but are not limited to: raising Grade Point Averages, (i.e. teaching study skills and/or test-taking strategies, facilitating study groups), informing students about post-undergraduate career options, updating students on developments within the field of Psychology, suggesting academic tracks within the Department, promoting research and test-preparation opportunities and facilitating mentorship. A secondary goal of PASS (with the aid of related psychology organizations), we shall seek to identify student concerns over FIU’s Department of Psychology and methods for better-improving communication between the undergraduate students, administrative staff, and faculty.
Requirements to join PASS:
- Must be an enrolled FIU student and
enrolled in minimally 9 credits (per semester). - Minimum GPA of a 2.0
In order to remain as an active member, members must:
- Attend 50 percent of meetings and have 25 percent
attendance at PASS events per semester
- A total of 4 points must be accumulated for the Spring 2024 semester in order to evaluate membership (and to be inducted into PASS)
